Jag läser Fernand Ouelettes biografi över Edgar Varèse från 1966: den är underbart panegyrisk, en ren hagiografi:
As he listened to the world, Varèse came to know that he would be a singer of sound; for it was as he listened that the world seemed to him magnificient. Thus Nature was his first teacher, as it has been for many great artists, as it was for Leonardo Da Vinci himself. [etc] (s 7)
